Sometimes when you’re mounted, especially at the higher levels, your opponent might not fall for the typical trap and roll escape from mount. Maybe they’re playing it low, and their arms are based out wide to secure the position. In this case, this may be a viable option.

This variation can be done if your opponent stuffs the attempts of the previous Omoplata or on its own from the closed guard. You don’t need to open your guard until quite a few other points are taken care of. That makes this a very low risk finish.
